1. Finding Balance Between Work & Play Is Key
Lives nowadays don’t operate on a traditional 9 to 5 schedule anymore. With technology making it nearly impossible to “get away” from work, employees and business owners alike can easily conduct business from nearly anywhere at anytime. While there are some exceptions – such as work that must be done onsite at a certain location or jobs that demand a team, face-to-face effort – most professionals can work from home or an office… or for that matter, a golf course, mountain or backyard. The key, however, is to create a balance in your life that allows you to live a life you want to.
Is attending after school networking activities on your priority list? What about being home when your kids get off the school bus? Possibly, however, you want to work-out midday, 5 days a week without feeling the pressure of work getting in your way? Whatever your ideal scenario is for Monday through Friday, consider how you can comfortably make it a reality if you’re willing to also work weekends as a result.
Many professionals are happy working forty plus hours a week during the traditional five day work week, however more and more professionals are finding that a five day work week isn’t necessarily ideal anymore. Instead, giving at least a little everyday of the week allows you to gain a lot all week long when it comes to your personal live, as well.
