Bookkeeping Express, the First U.S. Bookkeeping Service Franchise, ‘Balances’ U.S. Small Business’ Need for Certified Services with Aggressive Franchise Expansion Plan.

Bookkeeping Express, the First U.S. Bookkeeping Service Franchise, ‘Balances’ U.S. Small Business’ Need for Certified Services with Aggressive Franchise Expansion Plan.  Opportunity to Fill Massive Void Extended to Multi-Unit Franchise Area Developers; Mid-Atlantic States Targeted for Initial Growth

McLean, VA (August 18, 2008) – A proven leader and experienced entrepreneur who has seen businesses flail with inefficient bookkeeping services is bringing to market a small business savior.

Greg S. Jones, CEO of Bookkeeping Express, the first U.S. franchise focused solely on bookkeeping services, announced the company’s aggressive national development plans which call for more than 400 new territories. Initially targeting growth throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, Bookkeeping Express will turn its attention to the rest of the United States in the months that follow.

“We are ecstatic about expanding from our corporate market in the D.C. metropolitan area. Now more than ever, small business owners need our support so they focus on what is important to them…growing their business,” said Jones, CEO of Bookkeeping Express. “The void is something we are eager to fill with entrepreneurs who want to cover several adjacent territories with our distinctive services.”

Today’s announcement comes just days after Jones publicized the company’s first franchise agreement. Sold to a group of multi-unit franchises who already operate in the business to business franchise sector, the agreement will add seven new Bookkeeping Express territories within the city of Washington D.C.

With more than 28 million small businesses around the United States, Bookkeeping Express offers a much-needed service to companies that are not equipped or do not wish to handle accounting business responsibilities such as setting up charts of accounts and general ledgers, monthly data entry, processing and managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, producing monthly reports and tax reporting. Plus, Bookkeeping Express utilizes an Alternative Pricing Model that is based on the clients’ needs instead of a one fits all, hourly billing approach.

Jones, who captained the 1981 Penn State University football team, then started and sold a thriving telecommunications company, and is now a restaurant franchise owner with multiple units in Florida, witnessed first hand how small businesses struggle with bookkeeping on their own. Often, they will use an impractical service provider. Jones jumped on the opportunity to grow the concept.

“The proven structure of our business model has been tested at our five corporate locations and comes with more than 20 years of expertise in the industry,” Jones added. “Every Bookkeeping Express location is given marketing and operations support which far surpasses the options available to an independent provider, including telemarketing, publicity for grand opening support, and internet capabilities thru BKE Connect, to name a few.”

As part of the Bookkeeping Express franchise model, all locations will offer the BKE Connect system, which allows businesses access to all bookkeeping files remotely through an outside server, as well as a dashboard that clearly and visually ‘sums’ up the business’ operations for thorough analysis. Two options available to Bookkeeping Express investors include Master or Area Development territories that can be operated as a home-based franchise or commercial space locations; per territory start-up fees run under $50,000.
