Sometimes people who hear about us have a lot ofquestions because the service just seems too simple to be true – or we wonderwhy it hasn’t been around longer to help us get rid of mosquitoes. One of themost common questions we get about our services is whether or not the productswe use are safe. We wanted to provide some information to help you understandthe various products we use so you can feel confident that you’re doing theright thing to protect your home and family from mosquitoes.

Our main barrier treatment product is a synthetic form ofpyrethrins called pyrethroids. Pyrethrins are insecticides that are derivedfrom the extract of chrysanthemum flowers. That’s right – flowers. Pyrethroidsare used in numerous commercial products that consumers use to control insectssuch as household insecticides, lice shampoos, and pet shampoos and sprays youare probably already using if you’re a pet owner.

We spray this product on shrubs, low-lying trees, yourfoundation, mulch beds, etc. Generally we don’t spray your grass, unlessperhaps you’re having a specific issue with fleas. All chemicals we use areregistered with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). You, your kids, andyour pets can be outside again resuming normal activities as soon as thetreatment has had about 20-30 minutes to dry, without the annoyance ofmosquitoes.

For those who prefer an all-natural option, we use a productmade with rosemary, gerniol and peppermint. It contains natural botanicalcompounds to provide knockdown with residual mosquito control. It can be usedaround water and does not affect birds, fish, dogs, cats or other animals. Theall-natural option provides 14 days of protection with each treatment.

Each treatment is tailored to your property and may includea combination of both. For example, a majority of your shrubs will be sprayedwith our standard barrier treatment, while vegetable gardens, ponds andpollinating plans with our all-natural product. A certified technician trainedand knowledgeable in the treatments being applied and the pests they’retargeting will be applying your treatment and available for any questions.
