FranchiseWorks.com | Pest Control Franchise Mosquito Joe Supports National Mosquito Control Awareness Week from June 22-28 with 10 Percent Blood Bank Donations in Local Franchise Territory Locations
Virginia Beach, Va. – Mosquito Joe, a leading mosquito control treatment company serving residential and commercial customers nationwide, is doing their part to squash their share of bugs with regional partnerships to local blood donation centers and community areas. In support of National Mosquito Control Awareness Week from June 22 to June 28, the growing service brand is giving back to those communities where Mosquito Joe has a franchise presence.
For each new customer who signs up for a mosquito treatment during the week, local franchisees will give back five percent of sales to a donation center of their choice. In addition, Mosquito Joe Corporate, located in Virginia Beach, Va., will match the five percent investment of their own to the center, totaling 10 percent.
“This is the second time we’ve launched this program during National Mosquito Control Awareness Week, as its imperative for our company to educate the local communities where we operate about the importance of mosquito prevention,” said Mosquito Joe CEO (aka Head Joe) Kevin Wilson. “That’s why we’ve again engaged the franchisees in our network to make those important connections while doing something good for the community, but also helping curb the ongoing summertime mosquito issue.”
While introducing an ongoing treatment regimen such as the barrier spray services that Mosquito Joe offers is the most effective method to curb the issue, the reality is there are a lot more mosquitoes than there are man hours to fight them. The key to keeping yards mosquito-free is keeping mosquitoes from making yards their home from the start. The solution is to eliminate standing water breeding areas for mosquitoes because they require water to breed. Mosquito Joe has come up with a handful of helpful tips anyone can keep in mind for their yard:
- Regularly empty ponds, bird baths, fountains, plant pots, buckets, barrels, tarps, kids toys, pet water dishes or anywhere else that water may gather.
- Walk through the yard after every rain and empty any containers or areas where water has collected. Also watch for puddles where condensation gathers from the AC unit.
- Clean out gutters to avoid standing water – examine them for clots and damage that would cause water to collect.
- Make sure there are no low spots under decks where water can hide. Dogs love to make low spots where they lay under decks because it’s cool.
- Drill holes in the bottom of tire swings to prevent rainwater from accumulating. Do the same for garbage or recycling bins that reside outdoors.
- Use soil to fill in low areas in lawns and landscaped areas where rainwater may collect and stand for more than seven days.
- Keep swimming pools clean, properly circulated and filtered. Empty “kiddie pools” regularly. Make sure you have good drainage around hot tub areas.
- Repair leaky outdoor faucets.
- Don't be afraid to educate neighbors. They may not realize they have a wheelbarrow full of water behind their shed. Politely offer to turn it over for them.
- Cut grass and shrubs short, as adult mosquitoes gather to rest in shady, cool areas. Keep the yard weed-free and avoid overgrown vegetation.
- Remove extra yard clippings, leaves, etc. from yard.
“Each Mosquito Joe franchisee will connect with their community and work with groups and organizations to develop additional programs and events to promote mosquito prevention awareness,” said Angela Zerda, Director of Marketing for Mosquito Joe. “This planned outreach also shows the level of goodwill we want to generate in all of our franchise communities as we continue to grow.”
Mosquito Joe continues to build a strong reputation amongst its clientele and currently boasts units in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, Georgia, Maryland, Alabama, Kentucky, West Virginia, Texas, Michigan, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Tennessee, New York, Delaware, Florida and Illinois.
With a franchise fee of $15,000, Mosquito Joe has gone to market with the lowest franchisee fee in the industry and continues to entice business-savvy entrepreneurs looking to enter a growing, high-gross margin industry. The demand for mosquito control solutions is also expected to rise as more people discover the benefits of a mosquito-free yard and lifestyle, paving the way for national expansion of the brand.
