PostNet Executive Tapped to Lead International Franchise Association

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Steven J. Greenbaum, CFE, PostNet International Franchise Corp. chief executive officer, was named chairman of the International Franchise Association on Feb. 12 during the IFA’s 48th annual convention in Orlando.

Founded nearly 50 years ago, IFA is the oldest and largest trade group that protects, enhances and promotes franchising across the globe. Its membership includes more than 1,300 franchise companies, more than 10,000 franchisees and 500 suppliers of products and services to the industry.

Greenbaum has served as president, CEO and director of PostNet since he co-founded the company in 1992 with friend and business partner Brian Spindel. Greenbaum’s 25 years of experience includes accomplishments in the postal and business services industry. He is directly responsible for the strategic management and direction of PostNet, which began franchising in 1993.

Since then, PostNet has granted more than 925 franchises in the United States and various countries internationally including more than 230 locations in Southern Africa. This year, the company plans to launch its brand in Australia, Guatemala and Panama. Greenbaum earned his Certified Franchise Executive designation in 1997 and was honored with the IFA’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2003.

Greenbaum presently serves as advisory board chairman of IFA’s political action committee, FranPAC and chairs the Convention Committee.  He is also a member of IFA’s Finance, Audit and Budget and Membership Committees and is immediate past chairman of the organization’s Educational Foundation. He also serves on the board of the HealthStore Foundation, a non-profit organization that has developed 65 franchised Child and Family Wellness Shops in rural Kenya and will soon be expanding into Rwanda.
