    The Industry’s Best Training

    A-Pro’s award-winning training program is conducted under the auspices of the International Training Institute of San Antonio (ITI). The ITI stresses the importance of a whole-house inspection, starting with a foundation level survey and then working up through every system and component of the home.

    The ITI program is overseen by James Bonanno. James Bonanno has been in the construction industry for over 33 years. He has a Ph.D in Professional Inspection Engineering from Trinity College and University. He has been teaching commercial and residential inspections since 1986 and has authorized three textbooks on building inspections. He is certified to teach in 32 states and is recognized as one of the top inspection instructors in the United States.

    Professor Bonanno has served as President, Vice President, and Treasurer of San Antonio Real Estate Inspectors Association, Inc., he is a Certified Senior Inspector (CSI) for the National Association of Property Inspectors, and is a member of the National Association of Master Appraisers and the National Society of Environmental consultants.

    The training begins with an online course that prepares you for the most complete home inspection examination in the country. Following the online course, you’d fly into San Antonio, where ITI would provide you with a comprehensive field-training course at their state-of-the-art campus.

    The basic, 20-hour field training curriculum runs on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and consists of basic introductory home inspection training. It gives you an overall understanding of the home inspection process, and earns you Certified Home Inspector – or “CHI” – designation to use behind your name, much like a doctor uses M.D., or a dentist uses D.D.S. This is real-life, hands-on training that will teach you about entire inspection process, inside and outside, top to bottom.

    Again, the course covers every aspect of a home’s systems and components, including exclusive training on spotting potential problems before they occur. That’s something no one else offers, and it will give you a distinctive professional edge in the field.

    Then, to apply what you’ve learned in class, your final field exam will include a real inspection at our on-site residential property, including preparing a full-blown report.

    ITI also offers optional continuous training that includes light commercial, marketing and new construction inspection training as well. This training not required, but is available during your visit, should you decide you’d like to take advantage of it. During the advanced training, you’ll also receive mold sampling certification as well as (PHI) Professional Home Inspection certifications that allow you the use of the trademarked designations PHI for use behind your name once you pass our national exam.
