owner, Naseem Cheema, has opened his third Blimpie sub franchise
restaurant on Long Island, in Deer Park, in Suffolk County, NY. The high-traffic location is in a major industrial park shopping center near a booming outlet mall.
“Naseem came to the United States in 1994 from Pakistan and opened his first Blimpie restaurant franchise
in 1996 in Hauppauge, in Suffolk County, NY,” said Conlin. “Naseem opened his second Blimpie restaurant
in Westbury, in Nassau County, NY in 1999.”
“I earned a law degree in Pakistan, but my brother who was here encouraged me to move to the United States and start a business
,” said Cheema. “I looked at several business opportunities

in West Babylon in Suffolk County, NY, whose restaurant is under construction and scheduled to open in February 2011,” said Conlin. “And, now that we are a member of the Kahala family of franchise brands, entrepreneurs have co-branding opportunities. We recently opened a Blimpie and Great Steak & Potato Co. location in the Smith Haven Mall—the main mall for the ‘Mid Island’ area in Lake Grove, NY.”Blimpie
