Dunkin’ Brands Announces New Franchise Owner In Chicago, IL. | Doughnut Franchise Dunkin’ Brands Announces New Franchise Owner In Chicago, IL. Chicago Cafe, Inc. to Open Four Dunkin’ Donuts franchises and Two Baskin-Robbins Franchise Locations by 2014.

Canton, MA (July 16, 2010) – Dunkin’ Brands, Inc., the parent company of Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins -- two of the world's most recognized and loved brands – announced today it has signed agreements with Chicago Cafe, Inc. to develop four Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant franchises and two Baskin-Robbins restaurant franchises in the River North Area of Chicago over the next several years.

Led by existing franchisee Nitin Patel, and former franchisee and former Dunkin’ Brands employee Luke Halloran, two Dunkin’ Donuts are expected to open next year in Chicago’s River North areas and the remaining units will open by 2014.  The first Baskin-Robbins shop will open before 2013 and the second by 2014.

“We have deep roots in the local community and are excited to expand Dunkin’ Brands presence in Chicago and play an important role in the daily lives of people who live, work and visit here,” said Patel, president, Chicago Cafe, Inc.  “We have a strong passion and loyalty for the brand and look forward to the opening of our Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins restaurants in the years to come.”

In addition to the development agreement mentioned above, Dunkin’ Donuts is still seeking franchise owners to develop restaurants in Chicago, specifically in Cook, Kane and DuPage Counties.  Franchise opportunities also exist throughout Milwaukee, Atlanta, Washington, DC, and Detroit.

Dunkin’ Brands has aligned its development strategy to support the growth opportunities and consumer needs of each individual market.  As a result, franchising opportunities range from single units to multi-store franchise development agreements. This evolution of Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins franchise development efforts enables each brand to expand, while balancing its market penetration and maturity.

In an effort to keep the brands fresh and competitive, Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins offer flexible concepts for any real estate format including free-standing stores, end caps, in-line sites, kiosks, gas and convenience, travel plazas, universities, as well as other retail environments.

For those interested in franchising, Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins are seeking candidates that meet each brand’s specific franchisee profile to help build its business.  Ideally, Dunkin’ Donuts franchise candidates should possess a minimum net worth of $500,000 and liquid assets of at least $250,000.  Dunkin’ Donuts candidates should also have restaurant and/or foodservice operations’ experience.  To join Baskin-Robbins, qualified candidates are required to have a minimum net worth of $250,000 and $125,000 of liquidity.
