Encino, CA (June 22, 2010) – Menchie’s, one of the nation’s fastest-growing retailers of self-serve frozen yogurt franchises, today announced that it has signed a development agreement with Yogurtworld Corporation to become the company’s first international Master Franchisor.  As a result of this agreement, Menchie’s plans to open its first two Canadian locations in Toronto within the next several months, and anticipates reaching 100 locations throughout Canada within the next four years.

The first Menchie’s store in Canada will open at Rutherford Marketplace at 9360 Bathurst Street, Suite 4B in Vaughan, Ont., L6A 4N9, and it is expected to open by September 2010.

While other frozen yogurt chains have standard sizes and prices and charge for additional toppings, the self-serve model puts the customer in control, allowing them to create exactly what they want. Menchie’s customers help themselves to an unlimited mix of yogurt and toppings at a convenient self-serve station with more than 100 rotating yogurt flavors from cake batter and pomegranate tart to chocolate and vanilla, and more than 60 rotating toppings including fresh fruits, granolas, nuts, an assortment of candy and hot sauces. After crafting the perfect mix, the yogurt is weighed and paid for by the ounce.
