Encino, CA. January 2010 – Menchie’s, the nation’s fastest growing self-serve frozen yogurt franchise, has announced that on Friday, January 15, 2010, all Menchie’s locations across the country will host Haitian Earthquake Support Day.

On Haitian Earthquake Support Day, Menchie’s locations will donate 5% of their end-of-day system wide sales to support the American Red Cross Haiti relief fund. In addition to the donation, each Menchie’s will display a relief collection box encouraging customers to donate clothing, blankets, canned goods and money that will be presented to local American Red Cross affiliates.

“Providing relief for the victims of the Haitian earthquake is important to our Menchie’s family, especially as we pride our company on giving back to the community,” said Danna Caldwell, co-founder of Menchie’s Group, Inc. “By staying true to the meaning of our name, Menchie’s intends to support these victims, and the relief efforts of this unexpected disaster through generous donations from our loyal customers across the country.”

With a focus on being active in the community, Menchie's stores partner with local schools through fundraising activities and education incentive programs. Annually, each Menchie's store donates thousands of dollars in cash and products to local schools to support student programs.
