BALTIMORE, MD – Molly Maid, the nation’s leader in residential cleaning franchise services, announced plans to add 10 additional franchise locations to the Baltimore area over the next three years in order to accommodate a rapidly growing demand for home cleaning services both here and around the country.

Executives of the Ann Arbor, Mich.-based franchise company say Baltimore is a prime location for expansion, based on the success of the seven existing Molly Maid franchise locations that currently operate throughout the area. Coupled with the fact that two-thirds of women work outside of the home, house cleaning has increasingly become a “need” service.

“To date, Molly Maid has cleaned 17 million households around the world, and the U.S. Department of Commerce expects 80 percent of two-income households to use an outside cleaning service by the end of 2008,” said Kristi Mailloux, president of the nearly 450-unit Molly Maid franchise. “As the most trusted name in the residential cleaning segment, Molly Maid is ideally positioned for continued growth to meet the rapidly increasing need in Baltimore for housecleaning services.”

Mailloux points to industry estimates showing more than 12 million households using paid domestic services, and two-thirds of women working outside the home. Perhaps that’s why more than 4,000 blue Molly Maid cars, donning the distinctive pink logo, can be seen on American roadways at any given time, on their way to create peace of mind for a growing majority of the country’s dual-income households.

She said Baltimore’s 10 new locations are part of a strategic growth plan to add 40 new franchises around the country by the end of 2008.
