Franchises For Sale Opens Window of Opportunity. | Franchises For Sale Opens Window of Opportunity. Blinds and Window Fashion Franchise Budget Blinds Looks to Take Advantage of Increase in Renovation Industry, Nearly Double Its North American Presence.

ORANGE, Calif. – Home is where the heart – and discretionary spending – is. And with the home improvement products market projected to top $321 billion in 2011, Budget Blinds is anchoring itself as one of the fastest growing home-based businesses and offering a “window of opportunity” for an easy and low-cost business investment.

With nearly 800 territories to date and total volume sales to consumers in 2010 estimated at $235 million, Budget Blinds is looking to nearly double its North American presence. Company plans call for adding 100 new territories in 2011 and growing to a total of 1,500 territories in the next few years.

“The remodeling market has not gone away,” said Brent Hallock, co-founder and executive vice president of Budget Blinds, noting today’s ailing real estate market as a key influencer in Budget Blinds’ continued success and growth. “Not only are more consumers primping their homes for sale, but many who are unable to obtain their asking price have removed their houses from the market and are looking to remodeling, renovating and decorating as an intermediary solution, until things pick up. That’s where we come in.”

In 1992, when changes in ownership forced them to leave the window covering company they had been working for, five friends with similar franchise aspirations – Chad Hallock, Brent Hallock, Tony Forbes, Todd Jackson and David Lewis – each kicked in $5,000 and started Budget Blinds. With nothing more than a catchy name, shared vision and $25,000, they purchased $5,000 in printed advertising flyers and began passing them out around town. By the fourth month, their new business was generating $100,000 per month.

Following its initial success, Budget Blinds turned to franchising in 1994 and has since become the leading window coverings retailer in North America, providing high quality window coverings to consumers in a convenient and affordable shop-at-home way. Whether it’s a single room that needs redecorating, an older home that’s being remodeled, or the purchase or building of a new home, Budget Blinds offers a wide variety of in demand and unique window treatments, including blinds, shutters, cellular shades, roller shades, draperies and curtains from the top brand-name manufacturers. Budget Blinds also offers a variety of popular window coverings under its very own private label, Signature Series.

“No matter the state of the economy, people are putting their hard-earned dollars into their homes with a newfound passion for home décor. You can see this in the increased popularity of home improvement television shows and home décor publications on the newsstand,” Hallock added. “We have a style for every point of view.”

To augment the company’s growth, Budget Blinds is seeking driven entrepreneurs with a desire to work for themselves and benefit from one of the fastest growing and most lucrative segments of the home improvement industry – home décor. In addition, the industry credibility that Budget Blinds has built – including the system’s impressive sales volume, relationships with leading manufacturers and multi-million dollar national advertising fund – allows franchisees to capitalize on a significant part of this booming market.

“There’s an advantage in working with an organization whose vision extends beyond the immediate horizon,” said Hallock. “That is the key to our success.”
