Bagger Dave's Announces New SVP of Franchising

Hires Industry Veteran.

, is pleased to announce the addition of Bill McClintock, CFE, to its corporate team as senior vice president of franchise sales
McClintock, a veteran in the franchise community, has played an integral role in the growth of several well-known companies over the course of his 25-year career. Prior to teaming up with Bagger Dave’s, McClintock spent 10 years as vice president of sales and development for Buffalo Wild Wings, one of the fastest-growing casual dining brands in the country. There he had a hand in growing the concept from 50 units to more than 500 units. McClintock also served as senior vice president of development for the McAlister’s Deli chain, where he was responsible for several area development agreements and helping position the brand for national growth.
“I couldn’t be happier to join the Bagger Dave’s family and help grow the brand,” says McClintock. “I’ve always wanted to be in on the ground floor to build a brand in the right way from the beginning. I think my experience over the years will lend itself perfectly to getting the job done.”
Bagger Dave’s was founded in 2008 by Michael Ansley, one of the nation’s largest Buffalo Wild Wings franchisees and president and CEO of Diversified Restaurant Holdings, Inc., the holding company formed in 2007 whose portfolio today includes 14 Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants in Michigan and seven in Florida. Ansley met his new SVP of franchise
sales and development when McClintock was handling development and site approvals for Buffalo Wild Wings franchisees nationwide.
“Bill and I have been friends for nearly 15 years,” says Ansley. “With his vast array of experience in building and growing franchise brands
, I knew he’d be perfect for the job.”
In addition to its original Berkley location, Bagger Dave’s operates three other company-owned restaurants in Michigan. It has been approved to franchise in its home state, as well as Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. Plans call for opening three Bagger Dave’s locations in 2011 and a total of up to 24 new locations over the next five years. The brand is targeting development partners with multi-unit restaurant management experience able to commit to a minimum two-store development agreement. Bagger Dave’s will be finalizing their FDD within the next month, which will highlight attractive incentives for developers in the upper Midwest who meet the company’s franchisee profile.
“Our focus is on strategic expansion throughout key areas in the Midwest and selecting the right franchise partners,” says McClintock. “This will help position the brand for healthy long-term growth.”
Bagger Dave’s has identified a niche in the burger business
with a modern interpretation of the old-fashioned neighborhood bar. The burgers are fresh, never frozen and guests can choose from more than 30 toppings to create their own “legend,” including six cheese choices, three types of buns, six house-made sauces and more. The menu features hand-cut, double-fried French fries, Dave’s Sweet Potato Chips™, Amazingly Delicious Turkey Black Bean Chili™ and Sloppy Dave’s BBQ™, as well as sandwiches, salads and hand-dipped milkshakes. Guests can also enjoy a glass of wine or a wide selection of local craft beers, which are increasingly popular with guests.
Atmosphere is equally important at Bagger Dave’s. Besides being inviting for adults and kids alike, every restaurant is a reflection of the town it serves, with a localized décor with historical photos displayed throughout. There’s even an electric train that runs above the dining room and bar areas.
“I think Bagger Dave’s is a unique concept that really sets itself apart from others in the better burger category,” says McClintock. “From the local craft beer selection and vast menu to the display of local historical photos and paintings on the walls, I’m confident consumers of all ages will fall in love with the concept, just as I have.”
